A little Skydive Wānaka History
In 1998, Skydive Lake Wānaka was founded by Dave & Jools Hall when all they had was a van, a patch of grass with a couple of deck chairs on it, and a borrowed plane. Together they built the company up to a multi award-winning operation that to the present day has completed more than 150,000 tandems.
In August 2013 Lloyd & Julie Ferguson purchased the company, renaming it Skydive Wānaka Limited. Entrusting the management to Blake Mason, the company has continued to grow and innovate. Under Blake’s leadership and with an exceptional team of 35+ skydivers, Skydive Wānaka has cemented their position as one of New Zealand’s ‘Must-Do’ activities.
As of June 2016 and with Blake still at the helm, Skydive Wānaka became part of the Skydive on the Beach (Skydive on the Beach Group Limited) family of companies. Founded in 1999 by a pair of optimistic young mates, the company grew from the small beachfront operation of Skydive the Beach Sydney in Wollongong NSW, using a single six-seater Cessna 206 to a company with eighteen premium drop zones across Australia and New Zealand.
Skydive Wānaka is certified under Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand Part 115.
