26th July, 2010 - Aircraft for sale – We’re making way for the new!!

We’re making way for our new plane, so we have our current aircraft for sale.  We’re sad to see her go, but the new changes ahead are SUPER exciting!!!

The aircraft is a Cresco, 2002, 4400 TT – 5250 Cycles as of 1st June 2010.

She’s in mint condition, having always been used for skydiving operations here in Wanaka.  Has always been hangared, and has a nil crash history.  This is the nicest example in New Zealand.

If you would like any further information or would like to make an enquiry, please contact Dave and Jools Hall (owners) via info@skydivewanaka.com

16th April, 2010 - New plane for Skydive Wanaka!!

PRESS RELEASE: SKYDIVE LAKE WANAKA INVESTS IN MULTI MILLION DOLLAR AIRCRAFT

LAKE WANAKA, New Zealand (April, 2010) – Skydive Lake Wanaka announced its purchase of a brand new, purpose-built Cresco Xstol aeroplane that will increase passenger capacity and reduce impact on the local environment.

The $2 million plane is being built to specifications and ideas created by Skydive Lake Wanaka owners Jools and Dave Hall.

The Pratt and Whitney 750 horse powered turbine engine with a four blade propeller is quieter than the current plane and will lower noise levels. The larger interior will double the current passenger capacity reducing the overall number of flights required per day and impact on the environment.

As well as environmental factors the plane has been designed to enhance the passenger experience; more comfortable seating and larger windows for jumpers to capture Wanaka’s spectacular mountain and lake views on their way to altitude.

“The purchase of the new plane follows 15 years of reinvestment in to the business. We are constantly striving to enhance our customers’ experience as well as undertake steps to be environmentally responsible operators,” said owner Jools Hall.

The Cresco Xstol is the next model up from the Cresco, currently used by Skydive Lake Wanaka. The new plane, a P-750 X-STOL is made by Pacific Aerospace in Hamilton, New Zealand who is setting the benchmark in skydiving planes. Delivery is set for November 2010, in time for the busy summer season.

Skydive Lake Wanaka achieved Tourism New Zealand’s Qualmark Green rating for environmentally responsible tourism attaining an Enviro-Silver ranking this year and also won the Rankers people’s choice award for the best skydiving activity in New Zealand. In 2008 the company was presented with New Zealand Tourism Award for the best small operator in New Zealand.
